The range

From plant to soil

What’s actually in the bag.

Most poop bags begin as crude oil and end as microplastic. Ours begin as plants and return to earth. Three ingredients, no conventional plastic, no oxo-degradable additives.

The backbone

Plant starch

Sourced from corn, it gives every bag its body — the plant-based foundation that replaces petroleum plastic.

The strength

PBAT + PLA

Plant-derived compostable polymers that hold it together under a big dog’s worst day — then break down completely when it’s done.

The finish

Back to earth

In the right conditions the bag returns to water, CO₂ and organic matter — leaving no microplastics behind.

Where it’s made

We don’t hide our supply chain. We stand on it.

Our bags are made in China’s biopolymer manufacturing cluster — the same region the world’s certified compostable brands quietly rely on. We choose partners by who builds the product right and holds every relevant certification, not by which country reads best on a label. Being based here is the point: specifications are checked at the source, and factories are close enough to visit in person.

In plain terms

What we don’t claim.

We don’t say “biodegradable.”

The word has no timeframe and no standard behind it. We only use terms a certificate can back: home compostable, to a named standard, with a number.

We don’t claim pet waste composts anywhere.

Our certification covers the bag’s material. What goes in it is governed by your local council’s rules — and we’d never suggest otherwise.

We don’t compete on being cheapest.

Uncertified film will always cost less. We compete on claims that hold — verified, documented, and watched over time.

Why we exist

The compostable market has a trust problem. We were built to fix it.

Demand for certified compostable pet goods is rising fast, and regulators are closing in on loose claims. But the supply chain that feeds it runs on labels no buyer can check — and that gap is where AoraForge lives.

The shift

Across the world, buyers are moving from “biodegradable” to genuinely certified — and holding the shelf to a higher standard than ever before.

The gap

Yet most compostable claims arriving from overseas can’t be verified. Certificates get borrowed, expired, or invented — and a buyer an ocean away has no way to tell.

The risk

That gap lands on the retailer. When a claim can’t be stood behind, it’s the store’s name — not the factory’s — exposed to regulators and customers.

The fix

AoraForge exists to close it. One rule governs everything we range: if a claim can’t be verified on a public register, we don’t make it. No number, no deal.

The edge

Our founder has spent a decade on both sides of this trade — Western markets and Chinese factories, natively in both languages. That seam is the company: claims checked at the source, by someone who answers you personally. Not a middleman. A bridge built to be trusted.

About AoraForge

Started by a pet parent who wanted the honest version.

AoraForge began with a small, daily frustration. Our founder — a pet parent herself — picks up after her dog every day, and couldn’t make peace with a plastic bag that outlasts the dog by a few hundred years. The compostable options promised better, but there was no simple way to know which claims were real.

So she set out to make the honest version: everyday pet clean-up that’s truly home compostable, made from plant starch instead of oil, that returns to the soil rather than breaking into microplastics. Not “eco” as a feeling — compostable as a fact, to a named standard.

We say only what we can show. Every claim we make is one we can prove — and when a claim would run ahead of the proof, we leave it out. That’s what lets a store recommend it warmly, and a pet parent feel good about the small daily choice.

Why the founder is the moat

Close to the shelf, and the shopper

AoraForge grew out of its founder’s decade of professional experience across the US, Australia and China — close to the brands and stores shaping what a modern shopper expects, and inside the certified-manufacturing world that makes these products. So the same care lives everywhere it goes — what a partner chooses to stand behind, what a pet parent hopes for, and how the product is made.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I know this isn’t greenwashing?

Because we don’t say “eco-friendly.” We say home compostable, certified to AS 5810 and OK compost HOME, and we name the certifying body for every claim — ABA and TÜV Austria — with a licence number you can look up yourself. If a claim isn’t third-party verified, we don’t make it. Skeptics welcome.

How do I verify your certification myself?

Every certified line carries a licence number. Search it on the ABA public register (bioplastics.org.au) or the TÜV Austria OK compost database. If the number isn’t there, the claim isn’t real — including ours. We’d rather you check than take our word.

What are the bags actually made of?

A blend of PBAT, PLA and plant starch — no conventional plastic and no oxo-degradable additives. They break down into water, CO₂ and organic matter, leaving no microplastics behind.

What are your minimum order quantities?

Low, by design. A first order is meant to be a test, not a gamble — we work on deposit-based terms with small opening quantities, then plan repeat supply around your real sell-through. And if a first order arrives short of the documented specification, we make it right — refund or replacement, against the inspection record.

Can this carry our own label?

In time, yes. Once a line is running well, we can supply the same certified bags under your store’s name — so a product your customers already trust starts building your brand. It’s a step for when you’re ready, not a first order.
