Start with the licence number
A genuine certified claim should not rely on a leaf icon or a vague word like "eco". Look for the licence number beneath the certification mark. For AS 5810, that number should trace back to the ABA public register. For OK compost HOME, it should trace back through TUV Austria.
Match the certificate to the product
The company name, product type and material scope should match what is being sold to you. A real certificate should not feel borrowed from another supplier, another material or another product line.
Ask what ships with the order
For wholesale buying, the certificate is only the start. Ask for the specification sheet, material scope, batch records and any available test reports. The paperwork should be clear enough for your own team to understand.
